Drill Teams attend Army and All Service Nationals

The Diamondback (unarmed) and Rattler Guard (armed) drill teams attended Army Nationals and All Service Nationals May 2 - 4, 2025.

On Friday they competed with the best of the best from Army JROTC programs across the country, following that on Saturday and Sunday they competed with the the top teams not only from Army JROTC programs but Air Force, Marine and Navy JROTC programs across the US. The competition is intense and winners are decided by less than one point in most cases. The teams train hard and put in countless hours of before and after school practice and local competition participation to sharpen their routines to perfection.

The teams did not disappoint and took home many awards, see next column for their achievements.

Reference for Drill and Ceremony Events:

Armed Drill: Teams perform drills with rifles, demonstrating marching and rifle handling skills.

Unarmed Drill: Teams showcase marching and formations without weapons, emphasizing precision and synchronization.

Color Guard: Teams perform with flags and banners, often with intricate routines and movements.

Exhibition Drill: Teams perform more advanced and creative drills, often incorporating music and choreography.

Inspection Drill: Cadets uniforms are inspected to specific regulations and questions on military knowledge, customs, and regulations in addition to knowledge about local, regional and federal government officials can be expected.

Regulation Drill: The unit will perform various drill movements, such as marching, facing movements, and weapon handling (if applicable), with precision and synchronization. Cadets must respond correctly and promptly to commands given by their commander.
